Reference Management Software: Software that enables you to build a personal library of bibliographic records. Records can be downloaded from database searches, and the software used to insert selected references into Word documents (e.g. essays). The software will correctly format citations and the bibliography according to a chosen style. Two packages are available for use at the university:
- EndNote Support Page - standalone reference management software installed on all University public PCs
- RefWorks Support Page - web-based reference management software - useful for wireless networking and working off-campus

Journal resources for Community Care
- Online journals database - use this to check our electronic journal holdings. Provides a route of access to subscribed titles both on and off-campus

- The Library Catalogue - use this to check for print versions of journals within the Library: set the "Simple Limits" drop-down menu to Journals
- List of current or recent journal subscriptions in the areas of psychology, social care, health, and medicine - an alphabetical (but not comprehensive) list of paper subscriptions (check also the Library Catalogue or Online Journals Database for the availability of other titles)
- Guide to further electronic journal resources for psychology, social science, health, and medicine - a list of freely available online journal resources and tools
- Critical appraisal of journal literature - has a particular emphasis on appraising health literature, but will provide you with checklists for assessing the quality of quantitative or qualitative studies
