Library services for students of Associate and Partner Colleges
Students from Associate Colleges and Partner Colleges (Mid-Kent College, South Kent College, West Kent College, and Canterbury College) who are registered on courses at the University of Kent receive a KentOne card, which allows you to borrow material and which you should carry with you at all time while in the Library.
You will also have:
- a Kent IT account: claim your IT account online
- a Kent email account. You need to check your email regularly for University announcements, course-related mail or library reminders. You can set up your Live@edu account to forward your email to an alternative email address, see managing email for details.
Borrowing, renewals and reservations
Students can borrow 12 books; multimedia items are in addition to your allowance and can be borrowed from the Core Text Collection.
Physical items (like books and print journals) and most e-books are listed on the Library catalogue. A vast selection of e-resources, including online journals, newspapers and reference services, is also available.
Access your Library account online to keep track of your current loans, and to renew or reserve items.
Any items you have borrowed can be reserved by another reader, which means you cannot renew them. Ordinary Loan books can be borrowed for four weeks, but if recalled by another user you will be emailed and given 7 days notice to return the item.
Items that are returned or renewed late are subject to a fine. A courtesy email is sent to you to remind you when items are due back. More about fines.
