About Lawlinks

Lawlinks is maintained at the University of Kent to help students and others find their way around legal resources on the internet.

The Signposts are to freely available websites that we recommend as good starting points for legal research. We recommend browsing any of these sites individually to see what is there, but if you are in a hurry, use the search box to search all the sites in the group.

The Electronic Law Library has links through to subscription datasets which are only available to registered members of the University of Kent. You are welcome to look and see what we make available. If you are a Kent student, always use these links to access these datasets.

Researching the law and FAQ’s are electronic versions of quick guides to use as aide memoires to brush up research skills or get you started in an unfamiliar area. They are designed for University of Kent students so may refer to subscription datasets.

If you only have access to print resources or you want to go into greater detail, look at the following publications, but expect developments to the services referred to have been made since the date of publication:

Holborn, Guy : Butterworths legal research guide - (2nd ed. London : Butterworths, 2001)
Clinch, Peter : Legal research, a practioner's guide - (London: Wildy, Simmonds & Hill, 2010)
