Professor Nick Grief to speak at the BIICL Annual Conference

Professor Nick Grief will speak at the Annual Conference of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) on the 25th October, on the subject of 'Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons in the Middle East and North Africa'.

The BIICL is an independent legal research institute which seeks to advance the understanding of international and comparative law; to promote the rule of law in international affairs; and to promote their application through research, publications and events. The Annual Conference is entitled 'International Law, the Rule of Law and Constitutional Change', and will feature prominent speakers from throughout the legal world who will broadly consider the impact of the 'Arab Spring', with the opening address to be given by the President and Chairman of the BIICL, Dame Rosalyn Higgins DBE QC.

Professor Grief is the Sub-Dean and Director of Legal Studies at the University of Kent's Medway campus, and practises at the Bar from Doughty Street Chambers. Professor Grief teaches Public International Law and European Law at Kent, and his research interests include the domestic implications of international law. A respected and sought after legal commentator, Professor Grief has appeared as Counsel in a number of prominent and influential cases involving human rights and international law.
