Durham workshop
Participants in the Feminist Judgments Project met for the first time at Durham University in April 2008, to discuss the outline of the project. The group was also addressed by Professor Denise Reaume from the University of Toronto and a member of the Women’s Court of Canada (WCC), about her experience of drafting alternative feminist judgments in Canadian Supreme Court cases.
Westminster workshop
The second project workshop was held at the University of Westminster in October 2008, focussing on the process of judgment-writing. The workshop was addressed by Baroness Hale, who gave us lots of practical guidance and insights into the art of writing judgments.
Reading Workshop
The third project workshop was held at the University of Reading in April 2009. At this workshop we discussed the draft judgments and commentaries on the Parenting and Equality cases.
Bristol Workshop
Participants in the Feminist Judgments Project attended a workshop at the University of Bristol in June 2009, to discuss the draft judgments and commentaries on the themes of Vulnerability, Care and Connection and Property and Markets.
Birkbeck Workshop
Participants in the Feminist Judgments Project attended a workshop at Birkbeck in September 2009, to discuss the draft judgments and commentaries on the theme of Crime and Violence.
