Our world-class research drives the excellence of the Business School as it underpins and enhances all of our teaching. At Kent Business School we are committed to progressing our research capacity through ongoing implementation as part of our five-year strategy to enhance the Business School’s research focus. After several years of development we have significantly improved our research capability to be classed within the top third of all UK business schools.

Our research-active international teaching staff, all experts in their field of study, renowned for their global expertise in research which is supported by their publications and leading journals will guide and support your learning, not just about current best practice in your chosen field of study, but into the latest business thinking and emerging new concepts and theories.

In the RAE (Research Assessment Exercise) of 2008, 55% of our research was classified as ‘Top Quality International Research’ and we are now in the top 30 business schools in the UK.

 

Our Expertise

Research activities at Kent Business School are organised into six dedicated areas of business management and six Centres of Applied Research as specific areas of our research capability. We have six main areas of research where our expertise feeds back into the core modules of our programmes and form the base for the portfolio of electives:

  • Management Science
  • Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations
  • Retail Marketing and Supply Chain Management
