Visitor access

The eduroam Wireless Service provided at the University of Kent is part of the JANET network.

How to access the Wireless Service

Visitors from eduroam participating institutions: to connect, follow the wireless instructions from your home institution but set the Security type to WPA2-Enterprise and the Encryption type to AES. When prompted to log in, use your home institution credentials.

You need a Kent IT account to access the Wireless Service:

  • conference visitors/visitors on short courses: ask your conference organiser or course co-ordinator.
  • other visitors (Canterbury campus): if you meet the entitlement criteria, you can buy a Kent IT account from the Welcome Desk in the Templeman Library.
  • other visitors (Medway campus): IT accounts for Medway visitors are arranged if required as part of the room booking process.
