Microsoft Live@edu
Email service for undergraduates and taught postgraduates, all alumni and previous staff.
Alumni and previous staff
A permanent Live@edu account is available for:
- Students that graduated in Summer 2010 or later.
- Staff that left the University in April 2012 or later.
Note: access to most other services is withdrawn when you leave, see account closure.
Undergraduate and taught postgraduate alumni
You can continue using your existing Live@edu account, however, your email address is changed to username@kentforlife.net. If you previously had a kent.ac.uk address, messages will be automatically redirected to the new address.
Ex-staff and research postgraduate alumni
When you leave, your @kent.ac.uk ConnectMail account is closed and replaced by a Live@edu account with a new @kentforlife.net email address.
You can use the online opt-in form to enable mail sent to your old @kent.ac.uk address to be automatically redirected to your new Live@edu account.
Existing stored messages and contacts are not automatically copied to your new account. You can manually transfer them yourself before leaving, and for up to two weeks afterward.
Import contacts from another account or email program
Live@edu allows you to import contacts from another email account (such as Yahoo, Gmail etc) or program (eg Outlook).
- Sign in to Live@edu using Outlook Web App, then at the top-right of the screen click Options and choose See All Options...
- On the right-hand side of the Options screen, click Import your contacts from an existing e-mail account, and follow the instructions in the popup box.
