Help and account management tools

These are various utilities that have been provided at Kent to assist with local services. Some are more appropriate for use on student PCs.

• Printer Information - for checking your usage of charged printers.
• Take a Break - for locking your computer when you are away but be warned you will be logged out after 20 minutes. Useful for students on student PCs. On staff services use the Ctrl+Alt+Del, Lock Computer facility.
• Kent IT service alerts - displays the Message of the Day. A 'face' icon in the notification area (taskbar, bottom right of your desktop) will flash when the message changes.
• Reset Standard Drive Mappings - useful to refresh the mounting of default drive mounts.
• Account Management - a link to a web page with Kent IT account management tools including setting up a spam filter.
• IT user guides - a range of guides to help IT documentation, guides and information leaflets to help you make the best use of the IT and computing facilities we provide. Documents are available in pdf formats.

SPSS Inc. SPSS 15.0 for Windows 15.0.0 English - Patch 15.0.1		The install will first install SPSS v15.0.0 to the users desktop and then automatically update it to v15.0.1, the user will need to click an OK button once the first has completed that's it. Users can run both v14 and v15 on the same machine if they so wish.
Stata 8		Users who already have this package installed can still use it, but no further installs can occur.
Sun Connector for Ms Outlook 2003		User needs to have a Kentmail e-mail account. Version 7.1 available after updates including XP SP2 have been applied.
Texthelp Read and Write 8 Gold 8.0.0		English - automated
