John Sotillo the Director of Information Services at Kent, heads up the teams below to support teaching, research and the University's business processes.
Academic Liaison and Research Services
The team supports the academic and research community by managing repositories, special collections, research collections and specialist subject areas in the Templeman Library.

Business Systems
Business Systems is responsible for data administration, IT project management, system development and maintenance to support the academic administration and business interests of the University.

Library Services
The Templeman Library houses books, and many resources in other formats, special collections of rare and valuable materials and a photographic unit. The Library Services team enable resources to be stored, searched and accessed by the academic community, and maintain electronic resources essential for research and study.

Planning and Administration
The Planning and Administation team facilitates feedback and user evaluation of our services and enables IS to use this in future developments. The team also has responsibility for the software inventory and provides departments with a questionnaire and evaluation (OMR) service. Budget management, support of meetings and admin support all enable the smooth running of the department.

Technical Services
"Behind the scenes" is crucial to the smooth running of University services and facilities. The technical services team look after the maintenance of systems such as the email system, central filestore, network infrastructure, as well as patching of servers and systems. The integrity of accounts and access to resources is also an important part of systems maintenance.

User Support Services
User Services has responsibility for the supporting of our user community, including the Help & Enquiry points and the study bedroom network service; providing IT skills training; supporting users via the Information Services web sites, documentation and online news and information. The departmental support team supports use of Public PCs, printers and associated services including audio-visual support to lecture theatres and seminar rooms; the team liaises closely with departments regarding their IT requirements and provides a video conferencing service.

Web Development and Support Services
The Web Development and Support Services team develops online services in response to business needs, and assists departments to develop their websites by supporting web authors.
