Oscar nominated Michelle Williams (Blue Valentine) is a revelation as seductive, mercurial screen goddess Marilyn Monroe in this oblique and fascinating film about her time in England spent shooting The Prince and the Showgirl with Laurence Olivier in 1956 - the ‘week’ of the title being the week omitted from her husband (at the time) Arthur Miller’s diary.
In this re-imagining, Eddie Redmayne (Glorious 39) plays Colin Clark, a 23-year-old assistant on the film who becomes the fragile star’s confidante; with excellent support from Kenneth Branagh (as Olivier), Judi Dench, Dougray Scott and Emma Watson.
