We are looking forward to welcoming a group of Study Abroad students to Kent. We suggest that you plan to arrive on the 13th of January when your campus accommodation will be available to you. The Welcome Program will take place from the 14th of January, including a welcome dinner in the evening.
Please note that if you plan to arrive earlier than 13 January, you will need to arrange temporary accommodation until your room is available.
Classes start on 18 January.
If you plan to work part time, you will need to apply for a student visa under the Tier 4 points based system. If you do not plan to work, and are staying in the UK for 6 months or less, you will be given a student visitor visa on arrival in the UK.
You can apply online for your accommodation and enrol on line in the Getting Started areas of the Kent web-site.

Check list for new students
We are looking forward to welcoming a group of new Japanese Junior Year Abroad English PLUS students to Kent. We suggest that you plan to arrive on Wednesday, 6 May when your campus accommodation will be available to you.
If you would like the International Office to arrange a taxi to meet you from the Airport to take you to campus, please use the online taxi booking form. We try our best to try and reduce the cost of this service by trying to arrange for students to share a taxi if they arrive on the same flight or at a similar time. However, this is not always possible.
The Orientation Programme will take place on Thursday, 7 and Friday 8 May. You will receive important information from how to keep safe on campus to opening a British Bank account.
We will also take you to a local supermarket where you will be able to buy bed linen, kitchen utensils and food.
Please note that if you plan to arrive earlier than 6 May, you will need to arrange temporary accommodation until your room is available.
We are sure that your time at Kent will not only be academically rewarding but culturally too.
