There is a wide range of catering facilities both on the Canterbury and Medway campuses, these include:

Changing your name?
If you wish to change the name recorded on your HR and Payroll record, please bring along a copy of the appropriate evidence to show your new name to Human Resources. Acceptable forms of evidence include a marriage/civil partnership certificate, divorce certificate, deed poll.
Health and Safety
Please ensure that you report to your Departmental Health and Safety Co-ordinator on your first day of work.

The University Medical Centre The Medical Centre, Giles Lane (01227-765682) is an independent group practice with full consulting facilities, a treatment room and an emergency service.

Insurance
Motor Vehicle Insurance: Use of Private Car on University Business. If you use your own car on University business you should ensure that your own Motor Insurance Policy covers this use and is not restricted to private use. The scope of cover provided should be clear from the Certificate of Motor Insurance, but if you are in any doubt, please ask your insurance company to clarify the position.
Property of Staff. The University's main insurance policies do not provide cover for theft of private property whilst such property is on University premises.

Personal Telephone Calls
Personal Telephone Calls should be prefixed by the code **444#, followed by 9 for an outside line. The cost will be deducted from your salary.
Qualifications
If you are awarded a qualification after you are first appointed to the University, please bring along a copy of your degree or other certificate to Human Resources so that we can record your new qualification against your HR record. This is particularly important if you are awarded a higher degree as your highest qualification information is returned (in statistical form) to the Higher Education Statistics Agency as a part of the annual staff return.
Recreation and Leisure
The Arts on Campus. The Gulbenkian Theatre, is one of the major centres for drama in the region, being visited regularly by professional companies. Its excellent facilities are also used for student productions for drama and opera, jazz, recitals and poetry readings.
Cinema 3, in the Cornwallis Lecture Theatre, is sponsored by the University and supported by the South East Arts Association and the British Film Institute. It mounts a varied programme each term.

There is a flourishing musical life on campus organised by the University's Director of Music, with an orchestra, a large choir and regular recitals by professional musicians.
Art exhibitions are held in various locations on campus throughout the year.

Sport The Department of Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation, is situated at the Sports Centre on the Canterbury campus and oversees the University’s recreational facilities and development of sport at Kent.
With a dedicated Sports Development team, fully qualified Health and Fitness instructors and support staff - the department offers a wide range of services and caters for over 30 different activities, from climbing to a casual workout.
The department hopes to encourage everyone to keep fit and healthy and strives to create a relaxed atmosphere for people to train and enjoy themselves - whether they are a recreational user or a serious athlete.
The University of Kent provides sports facilities for students and staff as well as the general public with different types of membership available.
