The University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, CT2 7NZ, T +44 (0)1227 764000
The Higher Education sector is experiencing significant change and the University recognises the need to respond by increasing its flexibility and agility.
Change involves learning, adapting and improving. We encourage staff at all levels to seek opportunities in work, in partnerships with colleagues, through interactions with students, and through their own development to have a positive impact on University life.
The University’s Institutional Plan (2009-2012) includes the goal of operating in an efficient, effective, sustainable and professional manner and ‘People Management & Development’ is a key Human Resources Strategy. A culture of learning will help to embed new practices, using new skills, knowledge, capabilities and behaviours.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow states that Kent’s response includes “increased investment in both people and infrastructure” (Kent Magazine, August 2011).
We offer a range of support: training events, learning activities and materials to assist University staff in adapting to this new working environment.
