Contract Instructions
Please refer to the relevant set of instructions below before downloading the contract pack.
If you would like to appoint a new member of staff:
- Section A, B & E to be completed by the Department.
- Section C and all sections thereafter (apart from section E) to be completed by the Employee.
- Department to make a copy of Sections A to D and give to the employee; this makes up the employee’s contract.
- Department to send the completed timesheet contract pack (including copies of the eligibility) to HR by the 5th of the month in order to ensure the employee will get paid at the end of the month.
Please note that the employee cannot start work until their eligibility has been properly checked
Please ensure that you sign and date the relevant section of the contract pack to prove that you’ve seen the original eligibility documentation and that the date given is before the start date on the contract.
If you would like to request an extension to a current contract:
- Sections A & B to be completed by the Department.
- Section C to be completed by the Employee.
- Department to make a copy of sections A to C; this makes up the employee’s contract.
- Department to send the completed front sheet of the timesheet contract pack to HR by the 5th of the month in order to ensure the employee gets paid at the end of the month.
If you would like to employ an existing member of staff (New Duty):
- Please follow the same instructions for requesting an extension to a current contract.
- Please also ensure that a pension scheme decision is given and all appropriate sections of the contract pack are filled in for the new duty.
