We have created this site as a way of bringing together all the the current guidance and information we have to assist people in recruiting, developing and managing their staff. We aim to develop this site further over the next few months including the introduction of a set of staff-related reports which will both support the implementation of policies such as the sickness absence policy but also provide Heads of Academic Schools with information from the HR system to help with the management of fixed-term contracts, probation etc.
We would very much welcome your feedback on the current site and any development you would like us to make here.

The University’s commitment to pursuing good practice in researcher development has now been defined in a formal action plan using the input from researchers in all faculties. Continued monitoring and improvement against the plan will enable achievement of the European Commission’s HR Excellence in Research Badge.

The University’s Mediation Service was formally launched at a lunch on 1 June. A group of volunteer, professionally trained mediators will be able to provide effective conflict resolution for all staff across the University. For more information please visit www.kent.ac.uk/mediation.
