Simon Day

Comedy and Error

Sun 10 Mar 7.30pm

Simon Day

Description

Simon starts the evening off with some witty gentle stand up, then reads selected passages from his autobiography ‘Comedy and Error’……..which tells the whole story from his troubled youth, leaving school with no qualifications, being sent to Borstal, and being homeless after making himself unwelcome at both his divorced parents’ homes, developing a gambling habit which later turned into a drug habit, befriending Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer when working in a shop below their office, starting to do Stand Up ,and eventually touring with them, before joining the team which produced THE FAST SHOW (1994-1997) with a farewell national tour in 2002, right up to his miraculous rescue from self destructive addiction by a wife who “remained good looking while I got less famous”. “I found I could do nothing with her and still be happy”. And the two children which followed only confirmed his newfound happiness.

The evening ends with a question and answer session which will be typically full of Simon’s rather gentle wit……..and an after show book signing.
