Dame Felicity Lott is one of Britain's best-loved sopranos, her portrayals in the operas of Strauss and Mozart in particular have led to critical and popular acclaim world wide. She has worked with nearly all the major orchestras under conductors such as Carlos Kleiber, Georg Solti, Bernard Haitink, James Levine, Andre Previn, Neeme Järvi, Klaus Tennstedt, Andrew Davis, Kurt Masur, Franz Welser-Möst, to name but a few. We are honoured that she will be performing with the Festival Chamber Orchestra in a programme of music exploring ‘The English Soul’.
John Harle's concert music encompasses Opera, Choral, Symphonic and Chamber music. His music is dramatic, accessible and often otherworldly, gaining inspiration from history, folklore and mythic stories. The most recorded saxophonist in the world, working with the greatest of musicians, his activities have taken him from the Last Night of the BBC Proms and the podium of the London Symphony Orchestra to production on a number of chart-topping albums. We are delighted that he will be performing his expressive and haunting Silencium with Dame Felicity Lott and the FCO.
