St Edmund's School looks forward to hosting the international award-winning octet, VOCES8, who have established themselves at the forefront of British a cappella. Performing a repertoire ranging from Renaissance polyphony to unique Jazz and Pop arrangements, the group has been praised for stunning performance, exquisite singing and creating a sound that spans the entire range of vocal colour.
VOCES8 tours internationally and has a series of disc releases on Signum Classics, including Aces High, Bach Motets and the latest release, A Choral Tapestry.
‘The slickest of the lot...two parts King's Singers, three parts Swingle Singers, a dash of Bobby McFerrinn and California sunshine...fans of a cappella ought to hear this, not just for the singing but the production values and Jim Clements audacious arrangements’. Andrew McGregor CD Review BBC Radio 3.
The performance is held in the Francis Musgrave Performing Arts Centre at St Edmund's School, and follows a day of workshops with choirs from St Edmund's and the local community.
