On the buses parks up at The Gulbenkian Gallery

The CrossOver Gallery is hosting a retrospective exhibition of ON THE BUSES posters celebrating creativity at the University of Kent. The project began as part of Jan’s National Teaching Fellowship and developed as collaboration between the Creative Campus and the University’s Communications and Development Office. The most recent displays are from students of the Schools of Arts and Biosciences, but over 60 students, staff and alumni have contributed to the series since 2007 with poetry, short stories and photography appearing on the buses.
The project has drawn inspiration from two very different sources: ‘Poems on the Underground’ (The Poetry Society in collaboration with London Underground) and ‘Science on the Buses’ (an initiative led by Professor Frank Burnet, University of the West of England). Special thanks are due to the Communications and Marketing team for their generous support in making display space available through Stagecoach for the ON THE BUSES posters.
