From veteran director Ken Loach (Kes, The Wind That Shakes The Barley) and his longtime collaborator, writer Paul Laverty comes this caperish, Glasgow-set film about a new father who, after narrowly escaping a prison sentence, plans to create a new future for his family involving a whisky distillery - and teams up with a haphazard group of friends to make his dream a reality.
A return to somewhat lighter fare after 2010’s Iraq war drama Route Irish, but still full of Loach’s trademark social realism and keenly observant eye, The Angel’s Share is a very well-made treat.
