Description

Jon Sanders' taut ensemble drama follows the course and aftermath of a birthday party organised by Anna (Anna Mottram) for her husband Jim (Bob Goody), to whom she's been married for nearly 40 years.

 

As the party progresses old rifts, new relationships and secrets emerge amongst a group of friends; and underlying tensions within the marriage can no longer be contained. Filmed using improvised dialogue, with long fluid takes and little artificial light, this is a supremely naturalistic and very affecting drama.
