Martin Davis |
"a hilarious parrot-faced twat!" |
![]() |
Looking like some bizarre marionette tug-of-lovestruggle between Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, Martin Davis skids and bounces across the stage, strung up and tugged around by unknown forces, firing off arelentless rapid-fire assault that hits every corner of the room and kills 100%of all known hecklers stone dead. Going where mere joke-tellers fear to tread with his characteristic kamikaze bravado ("Go on, heckle me") he walks the razor edge of audience participation, daring them to pick him off it. His skill in warming up the chilliest rooms andturning the stoniest punters into soft putty in his hands makes Martin Davis the comic's favourite compere. With enough nervous energy to power a small city, Martin is the Jolt Cola of the circuit. Consumer advice would read: connect up the microphone, shout "Clear!" and stand well back! With residences at the Comedy Café and So Ho Ho, and regular appearances at the country’s top venues including The Comedy Store, Jongleurs, The Glee Clubs and The Stand, Martin has a strong and dedicated following all over the UK and further afield - in Ireland, he makes appearance sat Dublin’s Laughter Lounge, The Empire in Belfast and sold-out gigs in Galway and Cork. |

Helmut |
'A ream of clever one-liners' |
Helmut Experienced Headlining Stand- up Performer Marc Blake created 'Germany's finest comedian' in early 2003 and in that year played over 130 'open spots' around the country. Helmut was an instant hit, becoming a finalist in The Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competition, the Metro/Evening Standard Act of the year and C4's So You Think You're Funny. Marc took Helmut to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2004 in his first full length show, Helmut's Half Hour. 'Helmut is a regular Headliner for Geoff Whiting and Christian Knowles, as well as performing at Manchester's Frog and Bucket, the Kings Head, the Brighton Komedia, and at many other venues across the country. Helmut also performs for corporal functions and conferences. Using information supplied by the clients he offers a bespoke performance that is always guaranteed to split the British sides. Naturlich! Inefficiency, Britain's reluctance to join the EU, European policy gone mad are all grist to his Germanic mill. A hilarious act with dollops of silliness. |

Steve Day |
"revelatory and very funny" |
Steve Day is a truly unique comedian - warm, witty and engaging whilst dealing with the dilemmas of being a deaf man in a hearing world. Steve is a favourite at many venues across the UK and abroad, and is quickly establishing himself as one of the most popular and respected acts on the circuit. In 2005 Steve went on his first national tour of arts centres and theatres, with an updated version of his Edinburgh Fringe show 'Deaf In The Afternoon'. This tour was so successful that it went on the road again later in the same year, in total playing to over 30 venues around the UK, Denmark, Ireland and Italy. In 2006 Steve took his latest show 'A Night At The Pictures' on the road for a mini-tour, playing 10 dates around the UK to both audience and critical acclaim. |
