Your year abroad - outside Europe
This information is for people who have already chosen to spend a year outside of Europe and are being looked after by International Development.
It is increasingly important for you to be able to prove to employers that you can operate successfully in another culture and country. Spending part of your degree at one of our partner universities will equip you with increased cultural sensitivity, expose you to different academic perspectives, broaden your horizons and provide you with the opportunity to constantly challenge yourself in new and exciting ways.
Pre-Departure Briefing
If you are going abroad in 2013-14 please read our Pre-Departure Briefing presentations, to ensure that you are fully prepared for your year abroad. You will find these under the relevant country tab below.
Study abroad students are covered by the University Insurance Policy. You may still need to purchase additional insurance to cover all of your travel and health requirements so find out what is covered by the University policy and note that some US universities require you to purchase their own health insurance.
