Here are a selection of photos taken from our students during their time studying abroad. Look out for the Go Abroad photo competition, which takes place every year.

These photos should give you an idea about the sort of experiences our students have on their year abroad.

It was at this point I noticed that wherever you are in the world, you can be included in the spirit of community. Just by wearing something orange I immediately felt like I had been accepted into the Dutch culture and knew it was forever going to be somewhere I felt a sense of belonging. This picture represents that feeling of unity that is felt by every individual in the picture, and I hope can instill that feeling to others who look at it.

The Castellers, a human castle/tower, are very important in Catalan culture. They
hold a competition at every public holiday. The Catalans are also fighting for independence, this
can be seen by the banner hanging down on the building: Barcelona Decides, 10th of April. This
was a moment of inspiration because the Catalans are not only building and holding onto their
culture and history but they are trying to build towards a new future and I think this photo
juxtaposes these two perfectly: culture and history with the future.
