Sponsored events

Do you enjoy a challenge? If so, why not help us raise valuable funds for the Kent Law Campaign by taking part in a sponsored event.

Each year, there are many organised sporting challenges across the UK and overseas that you could register to take part in such as the London Marathon, the New York Marathon, the Great North and South Runs, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro or the Three Peaks Challenge. If you prefer, you could create your own challenge event and do anything from swimming the equivalent of the English Channel in your local swimming pool to skydiving or abseiling down a tower block to cycling 100 miles!

If something more leisurely is your thing, why not take part in a sponsored silence, a sing-athon or even the age old sitting in a bath of baked beans for a day! The possibilities are endless and we will support you as much as we can in whatever you choose to do.

Alternatively, if you are celebrating a special event such as a big birthday, wedding or anniversary, why not choose to raise money for the Campaign rather than receiving gifts from your friends?

Whatever type of event you choose, your efforts will be deeply appreciated and will be a great way of raising money for this important project. If this is something that appeals to you, please contact us for a sponsorship pack and advice on the support available to you. You can also set up your fundraising page online through JustGiving.

Anna Pollard, Campaigns Manager at the University of Kent and Kent alumna (K98), ran the 2012 Virgin London Marathon in aid of the Campaign

After her amazing achievement, Anna said: "The Kent Law Campaign is a fantastic project and one which I am fully behind. Set up in 1972, the Kent Law Clinic was the first of its kind in a UK Law School and since then it has helped hundreds of people who need but cannot afford access to legal services. When I received my ballot place for the 2012 Virgin London Marathon I knew I wanted to run to raise money for the Law Campaign. I am not a runner and was met with sniggers when I told family and friends that I had secured a place – I proved them wrong and completed the race in 05:21:17 and raised over £3,500 for the Campaign! It was an amazing experience and I would urge everybody to take up a personal challenge to raise valuable funds for this worthy cause."

"I am delighted to be part of this Campaign as I believe the project presents amazing opportunities and will benefit everyone who gets involved; students, colleagues and the community. The Clinic is an asset, not only to the University of Kent, but to society and it gives students first experiences of what law is like in reality. The mooting programme allows individuals to develop and enhance their advocacy skills. The result of this project will allow these invaluable experiences to expand and grow."
