Student Loan Delays

The University and the Department of Business Innovation and Skills have detailed a number of contingency measures to provide financial help to students who have had their Maintenance Loans delayed. For further details on Student Financial Support delays please see below:

  • If you have received your Payment Schedule letter from the Student Loans Company please call 0845 607 7577 for further information.
  • If you have your ART ID or customer reference number and your 6 digit secret password then you can use the automated response technology (ART) for further information. Please call 08456 077 577 or visit the Student Loans Company or Student Finance England.
  • If you have not received confirmation from your Local Authority (LA)/Student Finance England (SFE) contact them to make sure that they have received and are processing your application. For LA contact details visit the BIS website.

If you have not received your first payment from the Student Loans Company at the start of term, you can apply for an interim Emergency Short Term Loan from the Access to Learning Fund.

You will need to complete and sign a short application form and provide documentary evidence to show that your Local Authority (LA)/Student Finance England are considering you for a Student Loan.
