The Estates Department has a team consisting of 5 Carpenters, 2 Multi-trade Builders, 1 Painter and a Maintenance Assistant.
Matt Brealey is the Building Manager and is responsible for arranging all minor building repair work across the campus including roof, road and footpath repairs and some external signage.
The building team work from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Tasks undertaken include, but are not restricted to;
- Bespoke joinery/ carpentry jobs*
- Door, window and lock repairs
- Room refurbishments*
- Art exhibitions* (planning and installing)
- Brick/ blockwork (wall repairs)
*Some jobs are rechargeable and may require a cost code. If you would like a price first, please log your request via our rechargeable works system.
For certain window, lock and door repairs specialised contractors are called in. In these circumstances the fault will be repaired as best as reasonably possible, completion of the work is not always achievable at the time, however the area will be left safe and secure.
Building defects should be reported through our online defect report page or via telephone to the Estates Helpdesk (3209).
All defects are issued with a priority according to our service level statements.
