Welcome to the Undergraduate section of the website. At Kent, our English Literature degree is entitled English and American Literature. We offer the option to study the degree on its own, combined with Creative Writing, or Postcolonial Literature; also, as a joint honours programme with one of a number of different subjects. There is also the option to spend a year of your course studying abroad in one of a number of different locations in Europe, America, Canada or Hong Kong.
The areas of literature taught at Kent span from Medieval through to the 21st Century with specialist areas in Medieval and Early Modern Literature, 18th Century Literature, Dickens and Victorian Literature, American Literature, Postcolonial Literature and Creative Writing. Click here to find out what makes it different from other English degrees.
Our undergraduate programmes offer a flexible approach to your studies, allowing you more choice in each year to study the areas of literature that you want to focus your degree on. It is also possible to study part-time.
