- English at Kent rises to 8th in the Guardian University Guide 2016 out of 106 institutions
In the School of English at Kent, we are proud to offer English and American Literature as our main degree programme. Our students have the opportunity to study all periods of English literature, from the medieval period through to the twenty-first century, looking at a variety of prose, poetry, criticism and drama. Students also have the option to study an exciting array of American and Postcolonial modules. Our literature degree can be studied with creative writing, with modules being taught by staff who are themselves leading writers. The degree can also be studied alongside another subject as a joint honours programme and you can choose to spend an extra year studying abroad or working as part of a placement year. If you have any questions about our courses, do not hesitate to get in touch via the ‘Contact us’ tab.
On Saturday 7th November we are holding an English at Kent Day for your opportunity to experience what it would be like to be an English student for the day. Click on the link for more information.
