The School of English launched its Peer Mentoring Scheme in September 2007.
These are students in their second or third year who have volunteered to be part of the mentoring scheme. They have undergone training and are dedicated to the programme and ensuring that the transition from school or college to University is as smooth as possible. Mentors will contact all their mentees before Freshers Week and arrange to meet with during Freshers week.
All students entering the first year to study on the following programmes will be included in the School of English Mentoring Scheme
English and American Literature
English and American Literature and Creative Writing
English, American and Postcolonial Literatures
English and American Literature with a Year Abroad
English and American Literature and Creative Writing with a Year Abroad
English, American and Postcolonial Literatures with a Year Abroad
English and American Literature and Film Studies
English and American Literature and Sociology
English and American Literature and Classical and Archaeological Studies
The programme will also include students joining the School of English in Year 2 (students who have completed their first year elsewhere).
