Introduction to MyFolio for staff
All staff and students will have access to MyFolio, the University's new e-portfolio tool, in September 2011. Staff will have access from Thursday 1st September and students will have access from Friday 16th September.
MyFolio is strongly linked to the University's Employability Strategy and incorporates an employability skills framework, plus tools to support Personal Development Planning (PDP) and reflective learning.
MyFolio provides each student with an intuitive web-based tool for planning, reviewing, reflecting upon, recording and presenting their academic, professional/career and personal development. MyFolio is easy to use and provides a flexible environment for material to be published directly to the web.
As per the above dates, staff and students can access MyFolio using their usual University username and password. To access MyFolio, please visit http://myfolio.kent.ac.uk.
If you require any further information about MyFolio or wish to arrange a demonstration session for you or your students, please contact your Faculty Learning Technologist.
Alongside our Moodle training series, MyFolio training sessions for staff will be offered throughout the year. You will be notified by email when these sessions are available. Alternatively, a self-study guide is available here.
For more information on PDP and how you might use MyFolio in student inductions and how to embed PDP into your curriculum, please visit the UELT PDP website.
Over the course of the 2011/12 academic year, UELT will be contacting staff and students to gather feedback on their experiences and opinions of MyFolio. This feedback will be used to improve the overall user experience and to inform future developments of the tool.
