Research interests
Current activities Research of the dynamics of threats and conservation efforts for the Tropical Andean Hotspots in Amazonas and San Martin, Peru. Using the case of the Critically Endangered O. flavicauda to illustrate the situation. Project coordinator for the Yellow Tailed Woolly Monkey Conservation Project, run by NPC. The project’s final aim is to create a network of communal run reserves to ensure the survival of the species. It includes scientific investigation, reforestation, environmental education and development of economic alternatives. Funded by Apenheul Primate Conservation Trust, Born Free Foundation, IPPL US, La Vallée des Singes, Primate Conservation inc, Primate Society of Great Britain, The Monkey Sanctuary Trust and Restore UK. Development of regional conservation strategy for O. flavicauda in the Tropical Andes, Peru. Run by NPC and Community Conservation. Funded by Margot Marsh. Collection of data on hunted wildlife for commercial and private benefit in Amazonas and San martin, Peru.
