DICE appeal

"I'll never forget, soon after arriving at DICE, sitting in an early lecture about common property resources, and having a Massai raise his hand and describe how these issues were played out in the Mara. Then someone spoke about the Peruvian Amazon. I thought: where else could I be getting all of these perpectives on conservation?"

Louisa Richmond-Coggan, MSc Con Bio 2005/06

The DICE experience

cathedral

DICE is based in the Marlowe Building at the University of Kent in Canterbury. The university is set on 300 acres of parkland surrounded by fields and wood on a hill overlooking Canterbury, a World Heritage Site. The campus has excellent facilities and includes student accommodation, a library, sports centre, theatre, nightclub, eating places and bars, shops, bookshop, medical centre, day nursery, public access computer rooms, chapel, launderettes and bus stops. Canterbury was rated as the safest University city in England in the 2009 Complete University Guide. Several of the best wildlife-related visitor attractions in the UK are nearby in Kent, and we are close to sites like the white cliffs of Dover and Leeds Castle. But what makes the experience of being at DICE so special is the relationships you will develop with your classmates.
