Academic and continuing professional
development
Kent has a large portfolio of teaching, research and consultancy activities relating to health and social care provided by many departments across the University. Our courses encourage health care practitioners to make a reality of lifelong learning as they develop their careers and professional practice. We have always encouraged practitioners to engage in a long-term partnership through a range of quality learning opportunities within an academic framework of undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes and short courses.
Our courses are flexible and take account of the working circumstances of health care staff, the diverse circumstances of patients and the obstacles practitioners may face in taking up learning opportunities. The wide range of award bearing and continuing professional development courses we offer can be studied in a flexible way, with different stepping on and stepping off points, so that students can take either a single module or work towards a postgraduate certificate, diploma or mater’s degree. We can also take account of prior experiential learning through our APL process. Our MPhil/PhD, MD and MSc research degrees provide a range of challenging, topical subjects for practitioners who wish to study further at the highest level.
We hope that our courses offer a continuous pathway of personal and professional development that will inspire you to come and study with us.
