A global outlook
Kent has an excellent international reputation and our academic schools are engaged in collaborative research with universities from around the world.
Many of Kent’s programmes have a strong international focus and Kent’s global outlook is strengthened by our long-standing links with continental Europe. Known as the UK’s European university, we have centres in Brussels and Paris.
The global range of the University’s activities helps to attract students from overseas. Last year, over half of our postgraduate students came from countries outside the UK. This contributes to the cosmopolitan atmosphere at Kent and provides the ideal environment for analysis of global issues. In addition, Kent has exchange links with universities overseas, providing many of our taught and research students with the chance to study abroad.
Some of our Master’s programmes are
offered in an International Double Degree
format, allowing you to spend a second
year at one of our partner institutions in
mainland Europe and beyond, and obtain
two Master’s degrees.
Kent leads the way for ‘co-tutelle’
research degrees, which allow students
the chance to be jointly supervised by
the University of Kent and a university
in another country, resulting in a dual
PhD award.
