National ratings

Sports studies at Kent received a rating of 100% for student satisfaction in a recent National Student Survey.

The Centre for Sports Studies is one of the most exciting and innovative sports departments in the UK. Our aim is to establish the University of Kent as a leading institution in the UK for the study of Sport. The Centre is based on the University's award-winning Medway campus and has a well-equipped sports science laboratory and sports therapy clinic. The University of Kent has recently contributed to the development of Medway Park, an £11 million project to create a regional centre of sporting excellence that is an approved pre-Olympic training camp venue for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Medway Park is scheduled to host a number of major sporting events, the first of which was the Modern Pentathlon World Cup.

Sports Studies offers an Mphil/PhD programme in Sport and Exercise Science and Sports Therapy and a Professional Doctorate in Sport, Exercise and Health Science.

We also plan to offer a taught MSc in Sports Science and Sports Therapy from September 2012, subject to approval. For further details, see our website.
