Synopsis

This module offers a survey of international legal principles relating to migration. It will address international law principles concerning nationality, immigration control, migration and asylum. International law has a key role in shaping national policy in these areas, including through the application of international human rights principles. Equally, knowledge of the international legal framework is essential to a full understanding of migration policy and processes.

Students will be assessed on the basis of two 2,500 word essays, each worth 50%.
