Counselling
Who is our service for?
The Counselling Service is an integral part of Student Services offered on campus free of charge to staff and students. In addition to counselling and group work we also offer staff consultation and support to enable them to help colleagues or students.
- Counselling offers you time, attention and support to explore and make sense of issues concerning you.
- Our aim is to enable you to become more effective in your life, inside and outside University.
- We want to help you to get thoughts, feelings, behaviour and perspective on life back in balance again.
- With respect for your values, choices and lifestyles, we highlight the many inner resources that you have to help you make choices, resolutions or changes that would be positive for you at this time.
- Your confidentiality is of prime importance to us. If you have any concerns after reading our Confidentiality guideline, please discuss these with your counsellor.
- We may be able to help with concerns about a friend, family member or colleague.
Couples counselling
We offer couple counselling if one of the couples is a current student or staff member of the University of Kent.
