|The Alumni Association
Membership of the Alumni Association is open to all graduates and former staff of the University of Kent.
Being an alumnus of the University offers a number of privileges, including a 10% discount on the first year’s tuition fee of an additional degree; magazines and newsletters, and events and reunions.
The Alumni Relations team is your continuing link with the University, and to each other. Our events are a great opportunity to meet up with old friends and make new ones, and if you lose contact with anyone, we can put you back in touch.
We are planning some exciting upgrades to the alumni website which will create an online alumni community. Once you have registered you will be able to access the searchable alumni directory and update your own profile. Alumni who stay in touch with us receive the alumni magazine, KENT, twice a year. In addition if we have your email address we will send you the termly alumni enewsletter. This will keep you updated about events at Kent in the years to come.
From informal London pub nights to receptions at the House of Lords, there are events for everyone, including alumni overseas. Recently events have been held in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Brussels, New York and San Francisco, with further events planned for Greece and other countries. If you would like to help organise an event in your region or bring a group of friends back to campus for a reunion, we can help.
Our alumni are our best ambassadors and many former students give their time to support both the University and the alumni community, from serving on committees and boards to running and hosting alumni events and reunions. If you live outside the UK, we will contact you every time a representative from the University visits your country. You will have the chance to help prospective students by advising them about studying in the UK and about the benefits of choosing Kent.
We have alumni associations in the USA and in Hong Kong, and are working to establish groups in Malaysia and Greece, amongst other countries. If you would like to be put in touch with one of these groups, please contact the Development and Alumni Relations team. If there is not yet a group in your region you might like to start your own.
If you have not yet landed your dream job remember that you can use the Careers Advisory Service (CAS) for up to three years after graduation. You can browse vacancies online and the Careers website has information on how to get the most from your degree and tips for brushing up your CV. You can also access the Alumni Careers Network for advice and inspiration.
Support from alumni and friends play a vital role in ensuring the continued success of the University. Many of you will have been supported by prizes or scholarships which have been donated by alumni and friends and we hope the you will choose to contribute when you are in a position to do so.
All former Kent students become alumni when they leave the University. The Alumni and friends website offers you the chance to keep up with alumni news and events. There are over 100,000 Kent alumni worldwide, so please help us stay in touch with you by keeping us updated with your contact details. Visit the Alumni Association website.

Requesting a congregations programme
The graduation ceremony programme celebrates and records the achievements of graduates from the University of Kent.
The programme is available to all graduates and guests who attended the ceremony and are allocated on the graduates and guests seats.
If you did not pick up a copy of the ceremony programme on the day or you would like an extra programme, we would be very happy to produce you another copy at a fixed cost of £5 which covers the cost of the production of the programme and postage and packaging at the Royal Mail standard first class rate. Please contact the Congregations Office on congregations@kent.ac.uk to order one.
Your certificate
Students who wish to defer to the next available ceremony will not receive their certificate until it has been legally conferred in the next ceremony. Students cannot receive their certificate any earlier.
For all students who are unable to attend their graduation, certificates are posted within one month of the graduation ceremonies. For students who have attended their graduation, they will receive their certificate on the day in person.
They are posted by Royal Mail recorded signed for post to your registered home address. This means your certificate will need to be signed for in order to receive the package. If you live overseas your package is sent by Royal Mail signed for international post which will also require a signature on delivery.
Please Note: In some cases certificates may take longer than anticipated to arrive. If you are an international student and you know your postal system can be complicated it is very important that you make sure the address you wish your certificate to go to is clear, complete and correct. Some far eastern students may find it useful to give the Congregations Office their address in their native language prior to their graduation day.
Replacement certificates will not be issued until the original certificate is returned to the University as undeliverable or a period of eight weeks following postage has passed.
Please Note: due to the high cost of postage if a certificate is returned to us as 'unclaimed for' you will be charged postage costs for us to send your certificate out to you again including admin fees. The cost is £20.00
