Research Design Service South East

The Research Design Service (RDS) is part of the infrastructure of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The RDS South East is one of ten regional services around the country.

The RDS SE:

  • help to people preparing research proposals for submission to peer-reviewed funding competitions for applied health or social care research
  • comprises of a team of people based at Kent, Surrey and Sussex universities, able to advise and provide practical support when you are developing your grant application; all help is provided free of charge
  • runs a series of courses which are provided free of charge.

CHSS holds the contract for the RDS SE and is the lead organisation in collaboration with the Faculty of Health and Social Care at the University of Brighton and the Postgraduate Medical School at the University of Surrey.  The contract runs from 2008 to 2013.

Professor Valerie Hall of the University of Brighton is Director and Bridget Carpenter is Co-Director Business.
