Thurs 29th Sept: 7.30pm in Eliot College Chapel

 

The City of Canterbury – introductory talk with slides

History, where to go, what to see. Drinks and snacks.

 

Weds 5th Oct: meet at 4.30pm, Eliot College and walk down

 

Canterbury  Cathedral Open Evening

Arrive at the Cathedral in time for Evensong at 5.30pm. Explore the Cathedral, including bits not usually open to the public, and see the displays. Meal out in Pizza Hut afterwards.

 

Thurs 13th Oct: 7.30pm in Eliot College Chapel

 

DVD and Pizza Night

Arrive at Eliot College Chapel, enjoy the film and eat Pizza.

 

Sat 15th Oct: Day Trip by Coach - £15 including lunch

 

Bodiam Castle and Rye

Ride through the Kent countryside. First stop the ‘fairytale’ Bodiam Castle. Then spend time by the seaside and in the pretty town of Rye. Back to campus at approx 5.30pm.

 

Weds 19th Oct: 7.30pm  Blean Church (follow path beyond Park Wood)

 

Islam for the Curious

A lively talk by the Anglican Chaplain, followed by discussion. To include 10 things all Christians need to know about Islam, and why it’s important that they should.

 

Thurs 26th Oct: 7.30pm in Eliot Chapel

 

Sean and David, Committee Members,

will lead a discussion about journeys in Christian discipleship

 

Tues 1st Nov: 7.30pm in St John Stone House

 

November 5th Evening’

we’re guests of Catholic Society: a presentation about the famous Plot; lots of food & drink!

 

Thurs 10th Nov: 7.30pm in Eliot College Chapel

 

Chocolat and Chocolate

Our second DVD night this term, featuring the blockbuster film Chocolat, and lots of chocolate.

 

Sat 19th Nov: Day Trip by Coach and Channel Tunnel £25

 

The city of Bruges in Belgium, ‘the Venice of the North’

was the cradle of the Northern European Renaissance, and has to be seen to be believed. Excellent shopping, too. Sorry, non non-EU students due to visa restrictions.

 

Fri 25th Nov: Special Lecture, Rutherford LT 1 6pm

 

Peace-Keeping in the Middle East

Bishop Richard Llewellin will describes his recent role on border checkpoints on the West Bank. Followed by drinks and then a meal in Origins.

 

Thurs 1st Dec: 7.30pm in Eliot College Chapel
