Baptisms and Confirmations

Anglican Chaplaincy, University of Kent

- Do you consider yourself to be a member of the Church of England?

- Or would you like to become one?

- Were you never Baptised (‘Christened’) or Confirmed?

- Have you had any problems with the Church, or do you feel you have drifted away?

Now really is the time to get things sorted out!

Each year a number of students find that University is a good place to tackle these things: there is a friendly church community, and preparation sessions for Baptism and Confirmation (of an intelligent, straightforward, ‘non cringe-making’ nature) can easily be arranged, at times which are convenient for you. Since the Revd Stephen Laird arrived at Kent University (1998) about 33 people have been Confirmed (undergraduates and postgraduates), 10 of whom were Baptised here in Eliot College Chapel or at a nearby church beforehand. Confirmation services normally take place either in the Cathedral or at a local church.

If you are a Catholic or come from another Christian tradition (e.g. Baptist) suitable arrangements can also be made.

Please let me know if you are interested. Informal enquiries welcome - we don’t bite! Rutherford S3 N1; Extn 7491
