OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH ADVISORY GROUP

Structure

The Occupational Health Advisory Group will form an integral part of the University safety, health and environment committee structure, reporting directly to SHEEC.

Membership

Director of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) (ex officio)
Director of Human Resources (HR) (ex officio)
Occupational Health Physician (ex officio)
Occupational Health Advisor (ex officio)
Other officers as appropriate (ex officio)

Terms of Reference

The Occupational Health Advisor Group (OHAG) is responsible to the Safety, Health and Environment Committee (SHEEC). The group provides a forum for co-ordinating issues and giving advice to SHEEC on policies, procedures and strategies that may have an impact upon the Health and Well Being of University Employees, Students and Society as a whole.ie:

  • Forum for formation of policies in conjunction with Human Resources and Safety Health and Environment
  • To monitor trends in Occupational Health, develop strategies and make recommendations for actions to be taken.
  • A forum to discuss new developments in research and legislation that may affect the University
  • Develop further support using experts and consultants either from within the University or externally.
  • Reporting on trends.

IIssues from OHAG are a standard Agenda item of SHEEC.

Meetings

Meetings will be held at least once a term. Additional meetings may be requested or required.
