Volunteers For Finds Sorting And Washing: Volunteers needed for washing finds retrieved from ongoing excavations and marking pottery.

Assistant for entrance desk and shop
Opportunity to work at the White Mill on Tuesdays and Fridays (10.00-12.30) helping to sell entrance tickets and items from the gift shop.
The organisation: shows domestic agricultural and rural crafts artefacts to the public.
Skills/Qualifications: Enthusiasm and energy.
Museum Assistant
If you are interested in local history, particularly Sandwich , then this is the job for you! You will welcome visitors to the Museum, staff the desk and work the till.
The organisation
Open from the beginning of April to the end of November each year. To arrange exhibitions and display material for the benefit of local residents and schools. To encourage interest in and study of the material on display.
Skills/Qualifications: Must enjoy working with the public.

Located at the Cattle Market in the centre of Sandwich. 10 minutes walk from the train station; bus number 113 from Deal or Canterbury stops outside.
Museum Help
To help a dedicated team in the running of the museum and to help in the shop area.

Museum Project Assistants
The organisation: Preserving the historic watermill and opening it to the public as a working watermill museum, artistic centre and tea rooms. Milling. Guided historical tours. Fund raising events.
Museum project volunteers are needed for marking and labelling artefacts of historical interest, and for conservation strategy and archiving. Duties are time flexible and training will be given
Skills/Qualifications: Energy and enthusiasm.
Receptionist
The opportunity
We are open on Saturdays only. Sometimes visitors leave objects as donations and these artifacts have to be documented.
Skills/Qualifications: A pleasant welcoming nature.

The National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies
Opportunities include: In-situ conservation of books, manuscripts, archives and maps; Cataloguing documents and archival listing; Documentation of objects including listing and transcribing; Conservation of Metalwork. Cleaning and cataloguing arms and armour, medals and military silver; Preventative conservation of textiles. Replica work, creation of period costumes and methods of storage; Guiding – for all types of groups. Volunteers play a very important role throughout the Museum helping to enhance our visitors' enjoyment and understanding of the collection and also supporting the Museum. Long term volunteering opportunities include tour guiding, facilitating object handling sessions for the public and helping out at events.
