Covering Letter for Mini-pupillage
10 London Road 9th December 2010 Mr Barnaby Roche Dear Mr Roche

Tries to find the name of the appropriate person to write to if possible. |
|
I am a second-year law student at the University of Kent and am writing to apply for a mini-pupillage in May or June 2011. Your chambers interests me as it offers a broad range of commercial experience and is particularly noted for employment work, an area into which I have gained some insight through my experience at the Kent Law Clinic.

I believe that I have the necessary abilities to succeed at the Bar. I am confident speaking in public but can also relate well to people on an individual basis, whether advising, negotiating or explaining. I am able to handle a number of different tasks simultaneously, as was demonstrated last summer when I achieved high grades in my first-year exams while rehearsing for the University end-of-term concert and finalising arrangements for my study visit to the Ukraine. Above all, I am committed to a career at the Bar and have made every effort to develop these skills and gain relevant experience in order to achieve my goal. I hope that you will be able to offer me the opportunity to further my knowledge through a mini-pupillage and look forward to hearing from you.
