CAREERS INFORMATION for BUILDING, CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING STUDENTS
Construction is a massive sector, embracing civil and structural
engineering, construction, building services and surveying, and blurring into
engineering construction, where scientific, mechanical engineering and construction
disciplines all meet. It incorporates everything from house building to constructing
dams and bridges; to road, rail and air transport infrastructures; and industrial

The Engineering sector is truly huge. The Engineering Employers'
Federation (EEF) is more than 6,000 member firms strong. There are an estimated
800,000 engineers employed in the UK and the output of engineering manufacturing,
which employs 1.7 million people in total, is in the region of £67 billion
