The University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, CT2 7NZ, T +44 (0)1227 764000
The University of Kent has launched a free campus to campus shuttle service for all its students and staff.
The trial service will operate between the Canterbury and Medway campuses on Monday to Friday, 8:00hrs to 0:00hrs (midnight).
The service was launched at the University's Canterbury campus on 17 September by the University's Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Julia M Goodfellow, who was later joined by Neil Davies, Chief Executive of Medway Council, for the service's launch at the Medway campus.
Teresa Curteis, the University's Travel Plan Coordinator, said: 'This service has been introduced to not only improve general mobility between the two campuses but to also encourage students and staff who would otherwise have used their cars to take advantage of a more environmentally friendly mode of transport.
'The door-to-door service is also a way for students and staff to make the best of their time while travelling between the two campuses.'
The 29 seat coach and route are operated by The Kings Ferry coach company.
