Practice as research

A distinctive element of the School of Arts’ research culture and postgraduate programmes is the ‘practice as research’ strand in Drama, Film and Fine Art.

Our academic staff include a number of leading practitioners in film and theatre and the School of Arts maintains extensive links with national and international arts organisations.

Our  practice as research postgraduate programmes are designed for art, film and theatre practitioners who want time to develop and reflect on their work in a supportive and challenging environment.  The courses provide continuing professional development in addition to prestigious academic qualifications. Practice-based students also have access to professional standard facilities including studios, workshops and editing suites at our Canterbury and Medway campuses
