Students work at Olympic Opening

Best Kept Secret – 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony

Posted on 9th August 2012

Students and recent graduates from the Creative Events: Design and Production programme at the School of Arts worked behind the scenes to deliver what can only be described as a truly spectacular Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Kat Towerton, Danni Holland and Hannah Hand (pictured right), were part of the casting and stage management team, and were able to put the expertise they have learnt from their degree programme into good practice.

Charlie Johnson, Becky Carolan and Theo Marlas were also part of the stage management team and set and props department, with Zaja Grant and Mariam Ajayi joining the dance teams at the ceremony.

This has been a superb opportunity for our students and recent graduates to demonstrate the skills they have learnt whilst studying with us, and the experience they have gained from working on the Opening Ceremony is immeasurable.
