Outstanding resources

Film studies at Kent has first-rate viewing and library facilities, with highly developed IT resources. Films are screened on 35mm, 16mm, DVD and video, and viewing tables and laser discs are available for close study. Kent's library includes an excellent collection of film books, journals and magazines, over 6,000 video tapes and DVDs, and dedicated viewing facilities.We screen between 10 and 15 films a week, and you regularly see movies on a big screen in cinema conditions, on 35mm film whenever possible, in our two fully-equipped on-campus cinemas. There is also an extensive amount of video and filmmaking equipment for the film production modules, including industry-standard digital editing facilities.

Cinema on campus

Kent's on-campus cinema offers an eclectic range of films; from US independents to Bollywood, from established European filmmakers to work from Iranian, Chinese and Korean directors who may be new to you. Such a diverse line-up makes Cinema3 a source of inspiration for all film lovers and previous screenings include documentaries and innovative world cinema.
